For the Tears (March 2014)
Lord, they are tears
men cannot understand;
how could we?
You made us unlike, other,
unable to console this pain, loss;
so you must Lord, please.
When a woman’s body abandons her,
and the child so much alive within;
against every inner yearning, appeal -
loss, anguish, heartbreak.
The grief of remembering what is not,
but could have been.
So instead of joy filled showers
with their silly oohs and ahhs;
there is nothingness, so alone,
not even the dignity of a funeral.
Just us tonight, at home, with tears, and
with you El Bokeh, God who weeps.
